14 teams to battle for glory as Kwara U12 football challenge kicks off on Wednesday 




It's going to be all excitement for kiddies footballers in Kwara tomorrow Wednesday, February 28, 2023 when the maiden edition of Kwara U-12 football challenge begins.

Organised and powered by Kwara Football Academy, 14 teams will be on parade for  the tournament which seeks to discover future football super stars.

Already divided into four different groups, the opening fixtures will see Surprise FA taking on Young Talent and Solicitor trading tackles with Kwara Football Academy Boys concurrently at 4pm.

This will be followed by the game between Afrikan Kiddies and Champion and Hawar FA against Kingshood at 5pm.

The matches will continue later on Thursday with other fixtures.

Amongst many other things, the completion will serve as an avenue to discover more football talents. It will also help teams to expose their players and give them opportunity to showcase their talents.

According to the Administrator of Kwara Football Academy, Mallam Ibrahim Bako, the tournament will further help young footballers to build their confidence and also sharpen their skills.

While noting that the initiative is part of Kwara Football Academy's commitment to grassroots football development, he noted that the academy will not relent on its oars in upholding its goals and objectives.

"This competition represents our deep commitment into football development at the grassroots and also our zeal of giving back to the society. I believe that the teams and the boys will have good experience during the course of the tournament.

"We will not relent in our oars to keeping up with our mandate. This is just the beginning of many other programmes to come" said Bako who also doubles as the Director of Sports at the Kwara State Sports Commission.

Kwara Football Academy is reputed to be one of the best football Academies in the sub-saharan Africa with some of its graduates are making waves across the world.
