Victory against EFCC, a sweet revenge- says Olasunkanmi Mallick ABS FC Coordinator
Coordinator of ABS Ilorin FC, Olasunkanmi Mallick has described their 1-0 victory over EFCC in their Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday four clash in Abuja as a sweet revenge.
The match played at Area 10 football pitch in Abuja earned ABS FC their first victory away from home in the ongoing NNL season.
Aliu Ferinyaro was again the hero of the game as he scored a wonderful free kick to the admiration of fans.
Recalling how the team lost to the Abuja based side last season at their adopted home ground of Soun Stadium in Ogbomoso, Olasunkanmi said the victory on Saturday was a perfect revenge.
He dismissed the narratives that ABS will struggle against other big clubs in their group, adding that their chance is bright to get the promotiional ticket.
"We have always had an edge over EFCC but they defeated us last season, probably may be because we played away from home and we have since then been looking forward to an opportunity to take revenge, and this victory is a sweet revenge for us".
" Our chances of qualifying for the play off are bright. If you study the fixtures, it really favours ABS FC- in the sense that the top gladiators are going to be playing themselves at the end of the season , and by that time the horse trading will be more between and it will be a smooth sail for ABS FC "
"I am on cloud nine, over this victory. though I am not present in Abuja but I followed all the procedure from the first minutes to the last minute, we even scored a beautiful goal by Aliu Ferinyaro who incidentally scored our first goal in the competition in fact I am very happy" Mallick reacted while speaking to Newsmen in Ilorin.
He further stated that the victory would send a strong message to their opponent and will also serve as a huge motivation for the players and foster them towards achieving their target.
"This victory will propel the boys to make them believe they can still make it to the super eight. with this victory it shows that ABS FC are not a team to beat" He added.
