Olukayode Atoyebi Foundation takes Kay Cup to another level, increases prize money for winners  




The sole sponsor of the popular Kay Cup, Olukayode Atoyebi Foundation has raised the standard of the competition in an effort to keep up with the aims and objectives of the tournament.

In a clear demonstration of commitment to raising the bar of the game, the sponsor has now decided to put the prize money for the winner as #120,000; first runner up, 80,000 and second runner-up 50,000.

The increment represents a staggering 70% to what was obtainable in the previous edition.

Speaking about the development, the Coordinator of the Kay Cup competition, Kolawole Jeremiah Coker who is also known as Marazzina commended the foundation for their support.

"We sincerely thank our sponsor for their efforts in raising the bar of this competition. The increment in the prize money has increased the stake of the competition amongst the participating teams.

"We are glad that they've kept up with their promise for the past five editions and it's our belief that the competition will continue to help discover more soccer talents at the grassroots" he said.

The quartet of Oscar FC,Alright FC, Dohz Sports Academy and Gaa Akanbi FC have all booked quarter final tickets.

The tournament continues on Saturday with the final rounds of group stage games.

The competition, amongst many other objectives is aimed at honouring the memory of the late football enthusiast and philanthropist, Olukayode Atoyebi(Blacka)
