Gaa Akanbi FC receives Royal blessing from Emir of Ilorin 


The management, coaches and players of Gaa Akanbi FC recently paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR.

Led by its Technical Adviser, Coach Abolarinwa Bashir, the club presented its official jersey and one of its numerous trophies won for blessings from the monarch.

Coach Abolarinwa described the visit as very historical, noting that it will spur the team to do more in their pursuits for great things.

The Emir was also thrilled to know that the Technical Adviser is a son of the late Ibadan business mogul, Alhaji Raheem Tejumola Onirin.

The monarch however wished the club well in all its endeavours and promised to support them in anyway possible.

Gaa Akanbi FC has become a household name in Kwara State. Within the few years of it's existence, it has provided opportunity for many talented footballers to take their career to the greater heights, with some of them now making waves home and abroad. 

Recently, it struck a shirt sponsor deal with a real estate company, Bespoke Urban Luxury. It also signed a players development deal with La Planet Sport Academia.

Gaa Akanbi look forward to an amazing 2024 where many of its players secure big contracts.
