Barrier FA beat Dohz Academy 2-0 to win Kay Cup



Barrier Football Academy have emerged champions of the 5th edition of the Kay Cup Football Championship after beating Dohz Academy 2-0 in the final match played on Friday.

The well attended final had the curtain fall on the two weeks football fiesta which has lived up to its billing in terms of quality organsation and good conduct from the 16 teams that participated.
Dohz stole the show in the first half with great performance and possession of the game. The young-repleted team however failed to take their chances and would later be punished by their opponents.

Meanwhile, Barrier FA would later wake up from their slumber and took the game totally to Dohz' boys who later fell to the cutting edge of the more experienced Barrier team.

It was Kabiru Ibraheem who broke the deadlock for Barrier in the first quarter of the second half before the NLO side doubled it  to take the game beyond the reach of the Dohz team.

With the victory, Barrier FA have now won the Kay Cup twice, the first time they won it 2020.

The glamorous final was also capped with the presentation of prizes and cash reward to outstanding players, goalkeeper and Coach with trophies for the winners and the first runner-up. 

Earlier in the day, La Planet Sport Academia defeated Gaa Akanbi FC 4-2 in the third place final after playing out a 0-0 draw in the regulation time.
