2ND National Para Games: Jubilation as Osun Athletes Departs for Abuja, Thank Gov. Adeleke, Deputy Governor, Others for Releasing Funds

Jubilation and celebration is in line at Osun State Sports Council this morning as disabled athletes departs the shore of Osun State to Abuja, The Federal Capital Territory to participate in the 2nd National Para Games.

The athletes who couldn't hide their joy were all seen praising Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Deputy Governor who also doubles as the Commissioner for Sports, Prince Kola Adewusi as well as the SA Sports, Prince Kolawole Adeyemi and the SSA Sports, Sefiu Babatunde for releasing funds and working assiduously round the clock to make the journey possible.

One of the athletes, Faniyan Ige who spoke with journalists said that all the disabled athletes are extremely happy with the Governor Ademola Adeleke led administration for releasing funds for them to go and compete with other athletes from all the states of the federation at the National Para Games.

" This is the second edition of the Para Games. We didn't participate in the first edition but we are so elated that our Sports loving Governor Ademola Adeleke has counted us worthy to participate in the games. I must be sincere with you that under Governor Adeleke and his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, we, the disabled athletes are also treated as first class citizens." Said Ige

One of the Coaches, Tunji Adekanola also expressed gratitude to the Adeleke led administration while promising that the athletes will win medals for the state at the games.

" If not for Governor Adeleke's timely intervention to release funds, all our efforts in training and preparing the athletes would have been in vain. The Deputy Governor who doubles as the Commissioner for Sports, Prince Kola Adewusi, the SA and SSA have shown that they are sports lovers. The athletes are all in high spirit and are ready to make the State proud by winning medals." Noted Coach Tunji.

In their separate remarks, the General Manager, Osun State Sports Council, Mr Rotimi Dunmoye and the Director Sports, Coaching and Training, Mr Ademola Daini said that the Governor is a father of all who is always showing his administrative acumen. They said the Governor has approved and released funds for the games.

Mr Dunmoye and Daini also took time out to thank the Deputy Governor who also doubles as Commissioner for Sports, Prince Kola Adewusi, the SA Sports, Prince Kolawole Adeyemi and the SSA Sports, Sefiu Babatunde for working round the clock to make the journey possible.
