Ashab FC held Kwara United to a 2-2 draw, qualify for the Emir of Ilorin Cup round of 16



Ashab Football Club can be described as one of the revelations of the ongoing Emir of Ilorin Cup. 

The club, earlier on Thursday, achieved a perfect record at the ongoing tournament after securing a 2-2 draw with Kwara United in their last group stage game. 

Earlier, Ashab had secured a 1-0 victory over Kwasu Invaders and defeated  Estee Guys 1-0 in their second group stage game. 

Speaking after their game on Thursday, the Club Chairman, Abubakar Olanrewaju, commended the players for their excellent display of football artistry and sacrifice.

"I am pleased about this. I want to commend the coaches, players, and fans of the club for securing the round of 16 ticket. It's been a collective effort so far," he said. 

The Chairman further urged the players to remain steadfast as he stated that the club is poised to do more in the tournament.

"I want to urge the players to remain focused and determined. We still have more jobs to do, and I believe we will achieve great things together.

Ashab FC will face Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin Football Club, in the round of 16 of the Emir of Ilorin Cup.
