Ajaokuta FA Young Striker, Daniel Anate Shines As Team Nigeria Retains World FC Bayern Youth Cup In Germany 



One of the great football talents that abound in Ajaokuta Football Academy, Daniel Anate has taken put the name of the Academy on the global map. 

Daniel, a fantastic and young striker was part of the last 15-man team that represented Nigeria and won the world Bayern Munich youth football championship. 

He had earlier shone brightly during the qualifiers in Nigeria when he represented North Central zone at the finals in Enugu with this excellent performance later earning him a spot for the trip to Germany.
Speaking about the feat, the Director of Sports, Ajaokuta Football Academy, Ekun Shamsudeen Oluwatoyin appreciate all facilitator of the trip.

"I want to appreciate all those who helped in making Daniel Anate journey successful one. I thank his family, the board of directors in our Academy, Technical crew, FC Bako intermediary, Mr. Hilary Emeka Mba and other people that made his dream come true".

The young Daniel came highly qualified for the Germany trip by scoring five goals in the Abuja version of the Bayern Youth Cup, scored three goals and made two assists at the Enugu qualifiers before capping it all in Germany with a goal and three assists to help Nigeria won the game.

Anate, who has also been attracting interest from football agents has been tipped to be part of the next Nigeria U17 Golden Eaglet team.

Team Nigeria, who are defending champions, repeated their success of last year by defeating their South Africam counterpart 1- 0 in the final played on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Munich's Olympic Stadium.

Nigeria had earlier dispatched the Mexican team 3-0 in the semi-finals game. 

Seven other different nations participated at the 10th edition of the tournament.
