Funsho Muhammed Appointed As General Manager of Ladegbuwa FC

Ladegbuwa FC have appointed Ilorin-born football Administrator, Funsho Muhammed as the new General Manager of the club.

The Ogun State based NLO Division One side stated in the appointment letter that the choice of Funsho Muhammed was based on merit.

"I am pleased to extend an offer of employment as the General Manager of Ladegbuwa FC to you. We have carefully reviewed your qualifications and experience in the football industry and believe that your skills and expertise will contribute greatly to the club's success" the letter reads in part. 

According to the letter, the new GM will, among many other functions oversee the day-to-day operations of the club, develop and implement strategic measures to ensure the club's success and also supervise the administrative and technical runnings of the club.

While he will also represent the club at various meetings and conferences, he is also expected to manage the recruitment, training, scouting and evaluation of the coaching and administrative staff. 

Reacting to his appointment, Funsho appreciated the management of the club, led by Otunba Dapo Olumide Olowu for the confidence they have reposed on him and promised to take the club to the highest level.

"I am very happy with this appointment. It's a new chapter for me as a football administrator. I thank the management for the opportunity and I promise that I will do my best to help the club get to its deserved heights. 

While noting that Ladegbuwa FC is a club with great potential, he pledges his unwavering commitment to raising the bar of the club towards achieving its vision and mission and ultimately promote the team to the Nigeria National League(NNL).

Funsho added that his appointment will also create an opportunity for the young and talented footballers across the country and also enhance the relationship between the Kwara and Ogun State in terms of player's development. 

As the former General Manager of Gidado FC Ilorin, Funsho is reputed for leading the team to secure an NNL promotion ticket in the 2019/20 season, an achievement he had earlier claimed with the Kwara United Fedeers team in the 2018/2019 season. 

During his playing days, Funsho, a rock solid defender had stints with Police Machine FC,Julius Berger FC, Villa Rock FC all in Abuja before joining Kwara United FC of Ilorin. 

Ladegbuwa FC narrowly missed out on securing NNL promotion ticket last season  after finishing second behind Beyond Limits FA in the Group B2B with just one point. 

The team who were also earlier this year participated in Viareggio World Football Tournament holding in Italy has activated short, medium and long term plans to transform the club to one of the most admired football brands in the country
