FIFA agent exam success delights Adeshiyan, promises to create opportuinity for footballers

One of the few Nigerians who excelled in the last FIFA agent examination, Opeyemi Adeshiyan has expressed his delight about his success at the exercise.

Speaking to newsmen recently in Ilorin,Kwara State Capital at the sideline of the AMAPRO football championship play-offs, the Nigerian top football agent said he is ready to use his network to help young footballers make the best out of their career.

He stated that one of his major focus is to create opportuinity for young players in order to prevent them from becoming online scammers or fraudsters.

"FIFA has done a lot for us as football agents and there are going to be other training for us. We just did our examination recently where  59% failed the exam and 41% passed. I am happy to be one of those that passed the exercise.

"Our aims and objectives are to work with the young footballers. I work with talents who are within the age range of 15 to 20 because these are the young ones and they have longer time to play football.

"We are doing all we can to encourage young players to get the best out of their career and not become online scammers and get engaged in fraudulent acts just to get money"

Adeshiyan further expressed the imperative need to explore the economic potential of football and change the narratives of  the round leather game being just a recreation.

He urged the government to hand off football activities and liberalize the sector by encouraging private investors to come into the system.

"Many have argued that football can't survive without the government but I believe that the government should allow the private investors to make football a business and when they see the development maybe they can tap in"

Adeshiyan, who is a partner to organisers of AMAPRO football championship, commended the brain behind the project, Shogo Shodunke and called for more support to the project in order to achieve its aims and objectives.

"AMAPRO has started since 2016 and Mr Shogo Shodunnke who is my partner currently has been doing it all alone by himself but this year, Bet9ja has come in as a sponsor. We commend them as we look forward to more partners so that things in order for the competition to continue to serve the community well" he concluded
