Taiye Yusuf targets NPFL highest goal scorer with Gombe United


After netting three goals in five Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches in the colors of Gombe United, Taiye Yusuf has revealed that his target is to end up as the season’s top scorer.

Taiye Yusuf joined the Savannah Scorpions after an impressive season with Crown FC of Ogbomoso where he ranked up seven goals and six assist in the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season and has so far continued from where he stopped with three goals to his name for Gombe United.

Taiye Yusuf opened his goal account when he drew Gombe United level in their 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United. He also netted a brace in their 2-1 win over Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan to take his goals tally to three.

“I am so happy to have scored three goals in the NPFL so far this season which is my first”, Taiye said to www.owosports.com.ng.

When asked on what his target for the season are, He said. “I want to end up as the top scorer and the league best player. I know it won’t be easy to achieve this because there players from other clubs who are also have such goal in mind but I will work hard and with the help of God I will achieve this”. He concluded.

The winger is expected to be in action this weekend when Gombe United play host to Enyimba FC.
