Fierce battles as Kay cup football tournament enters quarter-finals stage
After round of crunchy and fiesty encounters in the group stage of the ongoing Kay Cup football tournament, teams have now taken a step closer in their bid to clinch sliverware with the competition now entering its quarter final stage.
Leaving up to its expectations, the tournament in its fourth edition was initiated to honor the memory of Late Olukayode Atoyebi, a football enthusiast and a philanthropist.
The last eight stage round game will see Group A winners, House of Prayers FA locking horns with Oke Kudu FC by 9:45am on Tuesday while the 2020 edition champions of the tournament, Barrier FA will be trading tackles with Dickalo FA by 11:45am on the same day.
On Wednesday, Nationwide FC will open the floor of actions against Okaa Sports FC by 9:45am while Skillz FC takes on Young Atlas FC in the last round of quarter final game by 11:45am.
All the matches are billed to hold at the Kwara Football Academy.
Meanwhile,the facilitator of the tournament, Kola Jeremiah Coker has once again commended Olukayode Atoyebi foundation for sponsoring the competition.
Popularly called Marazina Coker, the facilitator noted the intensity of the game in the first round of the tournament is a testament to the improvement of the clubs and an increased stake of the tournament as a rallying point for footballers to further sharpened their skills.
