Kwara new SA Sports set to synergize with all stakeholders
The newly appointed Special Adviser on Sports and Youth development to the Kwara State Governor, Honourable Umar Mohammed Attahiru has underscored the need to synergize with all stakeholders in order to achieve sustainable development.
Honourable Umar, who was sworn few days ago by Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq said the need to justify the investment of the current administration in sports development is very important.
"His Excellency has invested hugely on sports development in the State and it is our duty to also commit ourselves to his policy thrust so that his impact are further established in the mind of the populace". He told newsmen in Ilorin on Friday.
Earlier, the newly appointed Special Adviser had taken a familiarisation tour of strategic sporting unit of the State on Tuesday where he met with the Executive Chairman of the State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Magaji in his office.
Speaking during his visit, Honourable Attahiru lauded the commitment of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on sports development and promised to complement his efforts with all the goodwill inherent in his new position.
Honourable Umar was also at the Kwara Football Academy where he expressed the need to explore every opportunity to raise the bar of the football institution.
"We will try as much as possible to raise the bar of this great football academy because of its potential to generate revenue for the state" he said.
Reacting to the preparation of the state for upcoming National Sports Festival in Asaba, he stressed the need for all hands to be on deck in order ensure that the state contingent win laurels.
He charged all the officials in all the sporting units visited to continue to work assiduously in order to build an ecosystem for government's initiative to thrive.
At another event on Wednesday, Honourable Umar witnessed a seminar with focus on female child for early education held at labour house in Ilorin.
He charged the organizers and the audience to prioritize girl child education, saying female doesn't only call the shots in the kitchen again but in all strata of the society
