Young Oniye graduates from National Institute for Sports, set to explore coaching profession
A sport bluff and descendant of Oniye's family of Ilorin, Oniye Mohammad has graduated from the National Institute for Sports(NIS), Lagos, having passed and satisfied all the conditions laid out for the course of study.
The Sport institution designed with the objectives to train budding coaches and strengthen their capacity to achieve excellence at the highest level, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, at national, regional, and international levels of competitions, and also with a view towards enhancing national image and goodwill through sports.
With his unswerving zeal for sports and the desire to nurture the talents of the younger ones, Oniye has become a household name in sports' community in Ilorin/Kwara State given the track records of exploits he has been able to accomplish as the head coach of Makamz Football Academy, wining several tournaments and inspiring confidence in the young players.
He is a graduate of a prestigious citadel of learning, University of Ilorin, from where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (Education) in Human Kinetics. A discipline that teaches and inculcates the values of sports and equips people with the knowledge of the rudiments of sports and exercise.
Despite the knowledge acquired from school, Oniye never got complacent but rather remained resolute in his aspiration and approached a platform that would not only validate and certify him as a coach but would also afford him the opportunity to develop and improve his knowledge and practice of sports in the interest of social welfare that engenders healthy, disciplined and united society.
Oniye's enthusiasm for sports and propensity for coaching are evidently palpable in his choice of course, Coaching and training, which he has successfully completed and in which he now holds Higher Diploma Certificate, the highest qualification offered by the National Institute for Sports.
He has today been cleared and pronounced as certified coach who by the status is expected to contribute to the promotion and development of sports as a productive sector of the economy, either locally, and/or nationally.
During his sojourn, he took up a social responsibility with his election as the Deputy Governor of the School, a feat that underscored the confidence of his colleagues in his capacity to safeguard and protect their interest.
He has in the past gathered series of experience as a grassroot coach.
Before his recent achievement at the National Institute for sports, he has obtained series of coaching related certificates.
