Kwara YSFON Cup: La Planet Sport Academia begins title defence against Winning Stars 


La Planet Sport Academia will on Thursday, August 18, be rolling out their aces in a bid to defend the Kwara YSFON U17 Football Championship which they won last year.

The AIMO boys  will take on Winning Stars FC of Omu Aran in the matchday Two of the tournament which kicked off on Wednesday.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Head Coach of La Planet, Sheriff Jimoh expressed optimism that his boys will grab the maximum points from the encounter.

"We are ready for the tournament. Although we feel some kind of burden being the defending Champions but I believe my boys will do the best of the job" he noted.

The match between La Planet and Winning Stars is billed for 9:30 am at the Kwara Football Academy pitch.

La Planet defeated Young Antlers in the final of the last edition by 3 goals to 1 to clinch the coveted trophy.

Tagged 'Commissioner of Police Cup', the tournament in it's 3rd edition is featuring Ten teams.

Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt.
