4th Annual Boxing Fiesta to hold in Ilorin

The Kwara State Boxing Association has concluded arrangements to host Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq Annual Ileya Boxing fury. 

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Association, Barrister Ahmed Musa Adio, the Ileya Boxing Fury will attract representatives from all the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria. 

The epoch event will hold at the indoor sports hall of the Kwara State Stadium Complex in all the major boxing categories. 

He added that Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State will be the Chief Guest of while Honourable Saad Lukmon Olumoh and Hon Abdul Baqi Ladi Balogun from Lagos State House of Assembly  & ex CEO LAGFERRY are among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion. 

The concept of the tournament is to foster National Unity  using Sport as a tool. 

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Sports Commission under the leadership of Mallam Bola Mogaji has lauded the effort of the Boxing Association in rejuvenating boxing in the state.

Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt. Coach Aliyu has earlier won the heart of Nigerians after leading the team to WAFU-B championship back in October last year and he's banking on their support again to win the AFCON
