La Planet poised for FA Cup glory as Management lauds Taiwo Awoniyi for motivating players
Following the team's victory over Abdo FC in the first round of the ongoing Federation Cup, La Planet Sports Academia will be seeking to make more exploits as they face Gnosis Stallion FC tomorrow in the Quarter final of the tournament.
La Planet earlier on Monday defeated Abdo FC 6-5 on penalties to clinch the last eight stage ticket after playing out a barren draw in the regulation time.
It was also another exciting moments for the boys who had the privilege to meet the Super Eagles and Union Berlin Striker, Taiwo Awoniyi at the Kwara State Stadium.
Speaking on behalf of the management, Coach Sheriff Jimoh appreciated Super Eagles and Union Berlin Striker for motivating the boys.
"I would like to thank Awoniyi for inspiring the boys and his gesture towards them. His presence means a lot and I believe it will galvanize them to push further their careers".
Awoniyi, who was at the main bowl of Kwara State Stadium Complex shared the moment with the boys and encouraged them to be disciplined in their pursuits.
The former Liverpool Striker who donated some amount to the team charged the boys to remain positive, saying that the future is bright for them.
The quarter-final match between La Planet Sports Academia and Gnosis Stallion FC will hold at 10 am tommorow, Tuesday at the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex.
G. Stallion are riding into the encounter with their head high after thrashing Gaa Akanbi FC 4-0 in one of the first round games played on Monday.
While noting that the game tommorow will be approached with a different mentality, Coach Sheriff Jimoh said his boys are ready for the battle.
"We have learnt a lot of things in our first game and I can tell you that the boys are ready to secure the semi-final ticket tomorrow" said the gaffer.
A win for the team will see them setting up a semi-final duel against the winner between Kwara United and House of Prayers FA
