Olaoye receives Award of Excellence, tips Abimbola Queens for a bright future








The Proprietress of Abimbola Queens, Chief Mrs. Abimbola Olaoye has added another feather to her growing caps after receiving an award of excellence from the organisers of Ekiti Obas' Cup.

According to the organisers, Chief Olaoye, who is also a member of the Female Football Development Committee of Kwara State Football Associaton was honoured in view of her contributions to the empowerment of girl child and development of grassroots football.

"I am very grateful to the organisers for honouring me with this recognition. This award means a call to do more and we shall continue to do our best for female footballers" said the football administrator on Tuesday at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

Speaking about the future of the club, she expressed optimism that the team will soon become a point of reckoning and called on parents and stakeholders to support the team.

"They should have that believe that in the nearest future we are producing players that will represent this country at the international level. We urge the parents and stakeholders to support us".

"I have the intention of keeping them and taking them to higher level and I pray that Almighty God will help us to do more". Said an ecstatic Olaoye.

Earlier in the day, Abimbola Queens had defeated Fatoba Queens 2 nil in a novelty match organised as a prelude to the final event.

The 15-teams-featured tournament was organised with the aims of entrenching unity through football in Ekiti State
