Evolution Cup Is A Learning Curve For Olukismet FC- Atobaje

Olukismet FC Head Coach, Atobaje Oladeji has said that the ongoing Evolution Cup has been a learning curve for his team after claiming 4 points from a  possible nine in the tournament holding in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The Ikere based team shared the spoils with Ilaji FC in their first game, defeated Olansile 2-1 and lost via a lone goal against SGFA in their third game.

"Having started the pre-season invitational with a draw against Ilaji, I will say it was a deserved win for my players as they stepped up their game against Olansile," he said.

"We could have scored more goals in the game if my lads had made the most of the chances that came our way and surely, they have come good in subsequent games, as though they actually have not played on artificial turf but are used to natural grass".

"The championship has availed the coaching crew to know the real strength of the team and the grey areas that need to be beefed up. For a few of my players, they were naive because it's always been training and friendly games before a new season and not pre-season tourney like this.

He expressed his delight that his Players are now growing confidence as the games went on.

"Olansile are a good side. I saw their first game, they are compact in midfield so I had to play more from the wings.

On why his lads didn't make the most of our numerical advantage after an Olansile midfielder was shown a red card in the game,he said:

"Yes they were one man down but sometimes it doesn't really count as a team would still come out and play as giving that they had nothing to lose again."

The maiden edition of the Evolution Cup is sponsored by Alphakay International Sport and packaged by Sportsflames Communication.
