Abiola Sabitu Excited As ABS FC Defeat Yobe Deserts In NNL Opener




The goalkeeper, who was in goal on Saturday when ABS Ilorin FC  defeated Yobe Deserts Stars FC 2-0 in the 2021/2022 NNL opener noted that the result will spur them to do more in their quest for promotion to the Elite league.

Abiola was very impressive between the sticks; denying the visitors most of their goal chances to the delight of the fans and supporters alike at the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin.

"This is a good result for us and I am very happy about it. 
We would continue to do more to sustain this momentum and make sure we gain the NPFL promotion ticket at the end of the season" said the former Rising Stars FC of Ondo shot stopper.

Speaking about the clean sheet, Abiola stated that all the subsequent games will be approached with the same mentality, adding that the most important is for the club to maintain their perfect start. 

Goals from Jamiu Onikoko and Isaac Ogiri in each half of the game ensured that the Saraki Army cruised past the visitors from Yobe to gain their first league win.
